Mr. Ambrose did a masterful job of telling the story of the Corps of Discovery. The tale of Lewis and Clark is the tale of America, the spirit that has been the backbone of what makes America unique. Mr. Ambrose had a gift, the gift of telling stories that anybody would enjoy. I was engrossed from the beginning by the story and the use of Lewis’ journals in the tale. What makes it even more special, is finding out that Ambrose and his entire family took the same trip, almost every summer before his death. Such a fantastic book and something all Americans should read.
